I believe that we have successfully lived an entire week in the last 30 hours. Work hard, play hard -- works for me. It was a strange week. It was slow and easy, but the shop rocked. Can't be possible? Check our receipts. Timothy Ferriss would be proud of us. Nick and I really enjoyed ourselves, watching Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Chasing Amy, Swingers, and whatever else we could get our dirty hands on. All the while, we were selling wheels, bikes, and sending out repairs. Sounds like work, huh? Yeah, believe whatever you want. It was fun!
How did I celebrate? Ali and I went to Brad's after the shop close for exploding homebrew, a movie, and watching Kevin doing stunts on his bike -- not in that order... Could the weather have been any better? I doubt it! What a nice night! Mild weather in Atlanta in June. We WILL pay for this somehow. Oh yes, we will... The whole time, Joe was texting me with updates from the MX National in CO. I think he is just trying to get back at me for not coming to visit next weekend. Oh well, such is life... We will be heading that way soon, though.
Ali and I had the most incredible day today. It was our "cheat" day on the 4-Hour Body diet. We could have whatever we wanted -- we took full advantage of it! First, we met Keaton at Felini's for pizza and beer. I mean, eating no carbs or processed food last week was not too bad, but it sure was nice to pig out today! Afterward, we hit Dick's Sporting Goods (funny story, but I used to go to the original location as a child in Binghamton, NY). Ali wants to get kayaks. so we were just goofing around, spending our day looking at what was available. We parted ways with Keaton and headed to my shop to pick up my laptop. We then went to REI to see if they had real play boats (nope), as well as what they had in the the way of climbing gear (argh -- going climbing this week...). We then stopped at Atlanta Water Gardens to check out their koi and water features. Their fish are cool, but they don't have a snapping turtle! HA! We then grabbed the BEST hot dogs and frozen yogurt. Next, we finished off the pizza we had taken home and downed a few martinis and I had a beer (or two). I played a bit of Crysis, downloaded Battlefield:Bad Company 2, programmed in Python, read a book or two, etc., etc. Now we are ready to eat amazing lasagna Ali has been preparing! Today's theme was "relaxation." I LOVE cheat days!!!
